What is the South West Regional Environment Network?
The South West Regional Environment Network (REN) is an independent network
of environmental agencies, organisations and groups in the South West
region of England.
REN aims to make an important contribution to the regional agenda by
adding real value to the efforts of those involved in protecting and enhancing
the environment of the South West, in the context of sustainable development.
Since SW REN was formed in 1999, the network has made an important contribution
to the regional environment agenda. It has encouraged and enabled:
- The sharing of information and intelligence
- More and improved partnership working
- Access to a range of organisations and initiatives on a variety of
issues
- The continuing promotion, protection and enhancement of the South
West's environment
Membership of this network is continually growing and it is proving to
be an important voice in the busy regional agenda. SW REN has a significant
input on an increasing range of issues and initiatives.
SW REN terms of reference
Terms of reference have been written in
order to outline the role of SW REN and future ways of working. This aims
to ensure that the network continues to maintain a high profile in the
Region and that it adapts its ways of working to meet increasing demands.
